О фильме: В один день Нина потеряла работу (новый начальник пришел вместе со своей секретаршей) и близкого друга (Алексей, привыкший, что Нина никогда не обременяла его своими проблемами, оказался не способен даже услышать ее). Neil Harbisson was born completely colorblind, but when doctors told him there weren’t any treatments available, he started thinking about another way he could “see” color.

So he worked to design an implant with a sensor that could pick up light and read wavelengths. A corresponding chip that’s implanted against his skull then translates the colors into vibrations.

Since his successful implant surgery in 2004, Neil has been able to “hear” colors and feel their vibrations. Each color Neil sees is perceived as a note that he hears.

But it hasn’t been easy. After losing his job and almost getting denied a passport, Neil now works to protect the rights of cyborg and change the public’s perception of them.

The United States accounts for five percent of the worlds population but consumes almost 70 percent of the total global opioid supply, creating an epidemic that has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths each year. How did we get here, and what can we do about it? In this personal talk, Travis Rieder recounts the painful, often-hidden struggle of opioid withdrawal and reveals how doctors who are quick to prescribe (and overprescribe) opioids arent equipped with the tools to eventually get people off the meds. Travis Rieder, PhD, is the Assistant Director for Education Initiatives, Director of the Master of Bioethics degree program and Research Scholar at the Berman Institute of Bioethics.

Travis’ work tends to fall into one of two, quite distinct research programs. The first concerns ethical and policy questions about sustainability and planetary limits. Much of this research has been on issues in climate change ethics and procreative ethics with a particular focus on the intersection of the two – that is, on the question of responsible procreation in the era of climate change. The second research program concerns ethical and policy issues surrounding America’s opioid epidemic.

In addition to his more scholarly writing, Travis is firmly committed to doing bioethics with the public. He writes regularly for The Conversation and blogs occasionally at The Huffington Post and the Berman Institute Bioethics Bulletin. BJ is the author of Persuasive Technology: Using Computers to Change What We Think and Do, the first book to explain how technology can be designed to influence people. Fortune selected him as one of 10 “New Gurus You Should Know.”

Over the last three years, BJ has personally coached more than 20,000 people, using a simple and effective method called “Tiny Habits.”

The most common trek from Lukla to Everest Base Camp follows the busy route up the valleys of the Dudh Koshi and Imja Khola rivers. The «three passes» route we took diverts up the Bhote Koshi valley, then heads across the grain of the ridges over three passes to take in the views. These views include four 8000m peaks: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyu. Between the first two passes are the five Gokyo lakes, and between the second two is Everest Base Camp. At the end was Kathmandu, including Durbar Square. It was booked through KE Adventure Travel.

Our journey to Gokyo begins with a 320km long motorcycle ride from Kathmandu to Taksindu from where we head out for an incredible journey to reach the summit of Gokyo Ri!

Hiking to reach one of the highest settlements in the world with beautiful Gokyo lakes and rivers surrounded by majestic mountains, four of them over 8000m high, spectacular view of Mount Everest (8,848m), Cho Oyu (8,201m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,463m) and the longest possibly largest glacier of Nepal — Ngozumpa Glacier!

Varsana is the sacred home of Srimati Radharani where she lived with her parents during the early years of Her life. Along with Her gopi maidservants She would traverse the wooded forests of Varsana as they went to the market to sell their milk products — sometimes meeting Her beloved Krsna along the way. Our parikrama party had the good fortune to visit Varsana along with the mystic forest, where we hugged the tress as per tradition and begged one day become. eternal servants of the divine couple.

Today we began our Kartika parikrama in Mayapur by visiting Nrsimha Palli and HariHara ksetra, two special holy places in the Dhama. There we discussed the glories of both Lord Nrsimha and Lord Siva. The spiritual atmosphere of these places was overwhelming and more so due to the ecstatic Kirtan’s we had! So much mercy is available in the places of the Lord’s pastimes.
