The Ukraine Yatra is one of the most successful in ISKCON with over 15,000 devotees. We first visited Kharkiv where we participated in an amazing Ratha Yatra and then went on to Kiev, the capitol, where we had darshan of Radha Madhava in our movement’s biggest temple in the country. There we had several days of kirtan and lectures in an ocean of blissful devotees!

In the low of religion, when you finish 13 out kora around Mount Kailash then you are allowed to do the Mount Kailash Inner Kora, also known as Nandi Kora in India. It is said that only by completing 13 out koras can you cleanse yourself of all your sins. So it means that only people without sin are permitted to do the inner kora.
Of course, this is only a constraint for religious believers. On this particular trip, I met a young lady. As a person of no faith, why did she choose this strenuous trekking route, why did she come to Kailash, and why did she come here?
“I just heard about Mount Kailash a long time ago. During this difficult year, I think just come to see it. Without any religion or anyone force me. I just want to see and feel it by myself. And I never imagine that I could get so far. I’m so lucky. I can’t describe the whole trip. Every day is amazing. Every single person I met on the way, every single second I spent here, just perfect, makes the whole trip. ”
So it seems that the power of the sacred Mount Kailash is not only for the pilgrims, but even for ordinary people. Mount Kailash inspires people in its own way and brings blessing to them.
As someone who has over 10 years of experience as a Tibetan guide and has been here 59 times, I will share some trekking tips with you here.
Started from Serlung Monastery, which is 5 kilometers away from Darchen Town, the inner kora of Mount Kailash is 34 kilometers long. The lowest port of Kailash Inner Kora is 5300 meters above sea level, while the highest point is 5900 meters above sea level.
It is important to know how to stay healthy at such a high altitude.
Of course, physical health is the primary condition. Even I, a Tibetan, would feel some strain trekking here. So before you decide to take Kailash inner kora, make sure you do a good physical exercise to make sure your body can withstand a long trek in the plateau.
Also is to consult your doctor and tell him/her that you are going to travel to Tibet. In my experience, Acetazolamide (Diamox) is the most effective medication to prevent altitude sickness. However, you have to follow your doctors advice and carry some medications that are effective for you to prevent altitude sickness.
A pair of comfortable hiking shoes is also a must. The inner kora path is almost always rocky and very difficult to walk, and you will need to climb to reach the 13 Golden Chortens and Saptarishi Cave on the last section of the inner kora of Mount Kailash. This is the most dangerous section of the inner kora to reach the highest and also the end part of the kora. A good pair of hiking shoes will make you safer while climbing the rocks.

Kurukshetra has been a holy place since Satya Yuga. Thus, many transcendental pastimes have taken place there. Most important is that Lord Krsna spoke Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna at Kurukshetra during a great war there 5,000 years ago. He also met with the residents of сin Kurukshetra after a long absence from their lives. We discussed these deep spiritual matters at various holy sites in and around Kurukshetra and had a wonderful harinama as well.

In this episode you saw that we went to Mana village which is at a distance of 4 km from Badrinath Dham, spent half a day there, then we went to Shri Badrinath Dham, there after we started for Gurudwara Gobind Ghat.

Himalayan Camping Point: This is the place where we had our breakfast, they operate camps for night stay. This is 1 km before Mana village.
Following are the food items we had at this place, these food items are of Rongpa community which is part of Bhotia community, they are residents of Mana and NIti villey.

Mana Village: Though this place is so near to Badrinath Dham that you should not miss going to Mana village, ideally spend a day there and if you are short of time, atleast half a day.
Ganesh Gufa: This is the Gufa where Lord Ganesh sat down and wrote the Epic Mahabharata.
All the places in Mana village are near to each other, but yes you will have to walk down 1 or 2 km with in the village, you will love the scenic views from the village and will see the village as well.
Vyas Gufa: You must visit this cave, more than 5k years old, you will get the opportunity to learn about Maharishi Ved Vyas, Pandit ji, there is very knowledgeable he tries to explain about the things in detail to visitors of the Gufa ( cave).
You will have to trek for 3 km to reach this place, Though it is steep but if you walk down with less halts you can reach there in one hours time…. This place is near Shri Badrinath Temple.

Though we mentioned in the video that next day we will go to Gurudwara Shri Hemkunt Sahib but we could not go there next day.
Reason- we were there on 1st June and that was the day of opening, there were many yatri’s there plus there was risk of glacier melting as well…
Gurudwara management requested Yatri’s to stay back for one or two days and then go there…
We decided to go to Auli and then come back… You will see Yatra of Shri Hemkunt sahib in episodes to come.
For your information: Yatra for Shri Hemkunt Sahib starts from Guduwara Gobind Ghat, you can go there on your vehcile then from there you have to travel 13 km… out of which 4 km you can go on shared jeep then from there 9 km trek to Gurdwara Gobind Dham.
You should look at staying at Gurudwara Gobind Dham or at some near by hotel at Gobind Dham next day you have to trek 6 km to go to Shri Hemkunt Sahib then come back to Gobind Dham. Since oxygen level at Shri Hemkunt Sahib is low, so people are not allowed to stay back there.
