So many people never ask themselves what they want. Maybe its because they think they have everything already, or because theyre afraid its too late. But if we dont ask ourselves what we want, theres no way well ever know if our dreams are possible, or what it would take to achieve them. Until recently, that was my story. I was living an amazing, beautiful life, and I didnt feel I deserved to even contemplate anything more. This talk is about why I decided to finally ask myself that question, and what happened when I did. Although Rita Wilson is well-known as an actress and film producer, her most recent projects have all been connected to her passion for music. After achieving her dream in 2012 with the critically acclaimed album AM/FM — an intimate, elegant, and beautifully sung collection of classics from the ‘60s and ‘70s — Wilson has been focusing on a new component of her musical career as a songwriter. Recently, she has collaborated with a number of talented and successful songwriters, composing original material featured on her second album, self-titled Rita Wilson. Her new album Halfway to Home (March 2019) has a fuller sound: Southern California rock meets Nashville country, co-produced by Rita Wilson and Nathan Chapman with additional production from Ron Aniello and John Shanks. Many of the songs were co-written with an A-List group of songwriters, including Grammy winner Liz Rose, Kristian Bush of Sugarland, Mozella, Mitch Allan, and Kara DioGuardi. As a woman, she lives with the consequences of FGM everyday. She is determined that this form of abuse against young girls will end, and she wants to end it in her lifetime.

Khadija Gbla was born in Sierra Leone. Her family sought refuge in Australia in 2001 after enduring a thirteen-year civil war within her homeland.

Khadija strives to combine her African and Australian heritage and values in order to advocate acceptance and equality within the community. Khadija’s passion for her community and for giving young people a voice in our community continues to motivate her involvement in diverse community projects. Khadija has represented Australia in the international arena at the Harvard National Model United Nations, Commonwealth Youth Forum and Australian and Africa Dialogue.

Today, I will show you an exploration trip to the lost kingdom in western Tibet.

The Guge Kingdom, one of the first important cultural relics sites under protection in Tibet, is a place full of stories and mysteries.

Even I am a Tibetan, every time I come here, I got a feeling of mystery.

The ancient Guge kingdom has so many mysteries and secrets. Can you imagine there used to be a kingdom with over 100,000 citizens in such a wild area? Even now, people have no idea how this beautiful kingdom was destroyed in one night. No one knows what happened here.

Where do these tunnels lead? Where are the secret ways of the winter palace?

With many questions, I explored the ruins of Guge kingdom in my way. I crossed the tunnels in the ruins, which were believed to reach the hidden city of Shambala. I climbed to the winter palace at the top of the ruins, exploring the rooms, but found nothing.

Just like playing a treasure hunt game, I was always able to find some connection to my Tibetan ancestors.

Also, the Ruins of Guge Kingdom is an awesome place for photographers to take pictures. From the top of the kingdom ruins, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Guge valley.

The Tholing Monastery, which is 18 kilometers away from the ruin of Guge Kingdom, is also worth a visit since it is the first monastery in west Tibet. Although it has been destroyed many times in the past, you can still see many ancient stupas, statures, morals, and so on in this old monastery.

I really recommended the ruins of the Guge Kingdom for you, which you can add to your Kailash tour.

In the end, I would like to share some tips for your trip to the Guge Kingdom.

1. Please wear a pair of comfortable hiking shoes, as you will need to climb to the top of the ruins.
2. The ruins of the Guge kingdom are heavily weathered and not very stable and fixed in some places. Please be careful not to get too close to dangerous areas such as the outer walls near the cliffs.
3. The steps inside the ruins are very steep, so please watch your step.

4. If you are interested in Tibetan history, you can learn more about the legends of the Guge Kingdom before you go. It will be more interesting to bring your own questions to find your answers about the lost kingdom.

The wide, often untouched wilderness of the Baltic hinterland is home to many animals. More than 350 brown bears live in the primeval forests of Alutaguse. In the spring, the Soomaa National Park transforms into a huge lake. Europes widest waterfall is located in Latvia. In the beginning of May, vimba bream follow the course of the River Venta. The hardly 50-centimetre-long fish have to overcome a 400-metre-long rock barrier in order to reach their spawning grounds.
The Baltics are rich in superlatives: a fifth of the worlds spotted eagle stocks breed here. One of the largest courtship arenas for snipes is located here in the floodplains of Latvia. More than 1000 wolves go on the hunt in Latvias forests. Lithuania is the land of storks — with over 13.000 pairs, no other region in the Baltic States has more white storks.

For our first parikrama we went to Kamyavan and had darshan of Vrinda-Devi, the beautiful reddish coloured Deity worshipped by Srila Rupa Goswami 500 years ago. In the courtyard of her temple we discussed many of Radha and Krsna’s pastimes, as well as Maharaja Yudhisthira’s answers to Yamaraja’s 10 questions that took place at nearby Dharma-kunda. The kirtans led by Bada Haridas prabhu were especially sweet in that most auspicious atmosphere.
