Matt Abrahams is a passionate, collaborative and innovative educator and coach. Matt teaches both Strategic Communication and Effective Communication at Stanford Universitys Graduate School of Business. Matt is also Co-Founder and Principal at Bold Echo Communications Solutions, a presentation and communication skills company based in Silicon Valley that helps people improve their presentation skills. Matt has worked with executives to help prepare and present keynote addresses and IPO road shows, conduct media interviews, and deliver TED talks. Finally, Matt recently published the second edition of his book Speaking Up Without Freaking Out, a book written to help people become more confident, authentic, and compelling presenters. Prior to teaching, Matt held senior leadership positions in several leading software companies, where he created and ran global training and development organizations.

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Khadija Gbla grew up in Sierra Leone. As a young girl, she was subjected to Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). As a woman, she lives with the consequences of FGM everyday. She is determined that this form of abuse against young girls will end, and she wants to end it in her lifetime.
Khadija Gbla was born in Sierra Leone. Her family sought refuge in Australia in 2001 after enduring a thirteen-year civil war within her homeland.
Khadija strives to combine her African and Australian heritage and values in order to advocate acceptance and equality within the community. Khadija’s passion for her community and for giving young people a voice in our community continues to motivate her involvement in diverse community projects. Khadija has represented Australia in the international arena at the Harvard National Model United Nations, Commonwealth Youth Forum and Australian and Africa Dialogue.

The Ukraine Yatra is one of the most successful in ISKCON with over 15,000 devotees. We first visited Kharkiv where we participated in an amazing Ratha Yatra and then went on to Kiev, the capitol, where we had darshan of Radha Madhava in our movement’s biggest temple in the country. There we had several days of kirtan and lectures in an ocean of blissful devotees!
34-year old Sgrolmamtsho married Dongrub at the age of 21 (in 1993) without experience of housework, fieldwork, and fetching wood. Filmed by her husbands younger brother, phagspadongrub, in Amdo, the film concentrates on the daily life of Tibetan village women--fetching water, feeding livestock (swine, a cow, a mule), milking, cleaning the stables, cooking, household religious activity, weeding fields, transporting manure to fields, fetching wood for fuel--along with commentary by Sgrolmamtsho about her life and family. The most common trek from Lukla to Everest Base Camp follows the busy route up the valleys of the Dudh Koshi and Imja Khola rivers. The «three passes» route we took diverts up the Bhote Koshi valley, then heads across the grain of the ridges over three passes to take in the views. These views include four 8000m peaks: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyu. Between the first two passes are the five Gokyo lakes, and between the second two is Everest Base Camp. At the end was Kathmandu, including Durbar Square. It was booked through KE Adventure Travel.
I was fortunatee and highly lucky to be granted an interview with this true Himalayan mystic who resides at the heights of 10500 ft in the untouched, pristine holy divine place of Bhavishya Badri Dham. Two days before Kartika we journeyed to Jaipur to see the beautiful deities of Radha Govinda. The citizens of Jaipur’s love for these historic deities is evident in the fact that they come in large numbers each morning and evening to see their Lordships and to sing and pour their hearts out to Them. Such bhava, such love, is contagious!
